Sergio Contreras was elected to his first public office as Westminster School Board Trustee in 2004, and has honorably served the city in that position ever since. Under his leadership, after-school programs expanded and extended-day learning opportunities were provided to help students with English and math. He also increased access to computers, music and arts programs district-wide.

Westminster is Sergio’s hometown. He holds a lifelong commitment to the city established over three decades of residency and local public service. He continues to give back to Westminster because he believes that it is his duty to advance the community that has done so much for his family, friends and himself.
